Catania striker Maxi Lopez is reportedly on the verge of joining Dubai-based outfit Al Nasr.

“We already have a pre-contract signed with him,” Al Nasr chief Ahmad Al Khoury is quoted as saying. “He will sign his contract after passing his medical.”

Lopez was available for transfer after spending the last season and a half on loan at firstly Milan and then Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”5″>Sampdoria.

Torino were said to be interested in landing the 29-year-old, but it seems as if the Argentine will be heading to the UAE.

Having moved to Italy in January 2010, the former Barcelona forward has scored 27 Serie A goals for Catania, Milan and Samp.

His season at Marassi last term was disrupted by injury.
