Livorno beat Cagliari for the services of Inter-owned goalkeeper Francesco Bardi, his agent has revealed.

The Italian Under-21 international will spend the 2013-14 season at the newly promoted club, but the Rossoblu were also keen.

“Bardi finished on the radar of Cagliari,” Vincenzo Rispoli told FC Inter News. “However, in the end, nothing was agreed.

“There was a difference of opinion between the two clubs for him. Cagliari President Massimo Cellino wanted to sign him on a co-ownership, but the Nerazzurri only wanted to give him away on loan.”

The 21-year-old is actually a product of the Livorno youth system, but he was snapped up by the San Siro giants in 2011.

He spent the 2012-13 season on loan with Serie B side Novara and was the first choice for the Azzurrini at the recent Under-21 European Championship.
