There’s a soap opera around this game, as Icardi was very good friends with Maxi when they were teammates at Sampdoria and even went on vacation together.

The rapport collapsed when Icardi got together with Maxi Lopez’s wife, Wanda Nara. She is now married to Inter striker Icardi and gave birth to their daughter Francesca this week.

The last time the two players met on the field was in Sampdoria-Inter, but Maxi Lopez refused to shake his former friend’s hand before kick-off.

“Will I shake his hand this time? I don’t think about these things, as I just focus on training and scoring goals,” Maxi told reporters.

“I never started any of this. I always felt a private life should remain private. We need to be professionals in that respect.”

It was a nightmare day for Maxi Lopez, as not only did Icardi score, but he also saw his penalty parried by Samir Handanovic.

“I remember that penalty well. If the opportunity arose again, I’d step up without problems, although maybe I’d change the angle…

“Torino are a side who are fired up and never give in. We worked hard all week and are ready for this appointment at San Siro.”
