Everton striker Eto’o underwent his medical in Rome’s Villa Stuart clinic on Saturday and will be presented to the fans at Marassi ahead of today’s game.
“Eto’o is a player who has won everything and in media terms is giving Sampdoria a lot of visibility right now, but he must be an added bonus to the group and not bring distractions,” warned Mihajlovic.
“I hope the fans recognise all that the players have done so far and will continue to do. I will get very angry if I hear grumbling from the stands again.
“Starting from this round, we will not only be challenging our opponents, but also ourselves and that is the most difficult part. We must double our efforts, because the objective now is to do even better than the first half of the season.”
There was controversy on Monday when Okaka was sent home early from training for a row with Mihajlovic and director Carlo Osti.
However, the striker played in the Coppa Italia against Inter and Miha reveals how he smoothed things over.
“Nothing major happened, it was the media who made a big deal of it. There was nothing to sort out, but I took him out for dinner anyway – and I paid!
“Okaka is a lad I really care about and at the moment he’s not in his best form, but he’ll get back to being the player we all know.”
New signing Andrea Coda is in the squad after arriving from Udinese, but Luis Muriel and Fabrizio Cacciatore are injured.
