Stefano Mauri believes Lazio can still be “happy with a point at San Siro” despite leading Milan 2-0.

The Biancocelesti went surging into a shock lead within 22 minutes thanks to Miroslav Klose and Djibril Cissè, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano fought back for a 2-2 result last night.

“This team knows how to suffer under pressure as well,” Mauri told Sky Sport Italia. “We played on a par with Milan, even if we should’ve controlled the game better when 2-0 up.

“Nonetheless, we can be happy with a point at San Siro. We put in a great performance. The side has improved a lot over the summer and we’re working hard to earn a place in the Champions League.

“Having said that, we don’t want to underestimate the Europa League task ahead of us either. We are a great squad and everyone will contribute over this long campaign.”
