New Genoa striker Tim Matavz says his ‘first impressions are good’ and that he’s ‘ready to face Milan’.

The Slovenia international arrived from Augsburg on transfer deadline day on a six-month loan and was presented to the media today.

“The first impressions are good, I liked the fans and the stadium straight away,” he said.

“I haven’t seen many Genoa games, but I like Gasperini’s style of play and I hope to learn it quickly.

“I chose the number 42 shirt because of my daughters’ birthdays (20th and 4th) – The number 24 wasn’t available so I inverted it!

“I’m ready to play against Milan, San Siro is a stadium I’ve already played in.”
