Inter CEO Beppe Marotta ‘won’t rule out’ a move for Manchester United full-back Alex Telles, was coy about Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin and said Federico Dimarco ‘is the present and the future’ of the Nerazzurri.

The Beneamata have started the preparations for Serie A 2021-22 without the players who were on international duties this summer.

Inter play a friendly against Lugano tonight and Marotta spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of the game.

“This season started with momentary defections of the players who took part in the European Championship,” Marotta told Sky Sport Italia ahead of the friendly against Lugano.

“Today, there will be a reworked line-up, space for young players and those who will be transferred in the coming weeks.

“We are reconfirming the Italian champions team, apart from [Achraf] Hakimi. The intention is to start with this group that has given us great satisfaction.”

Reports in Italy suggest Inter are negotiating with Arsenal over a move for full-back Hector Bellerin.

“It’s a name that is mentioned by you, there’s our attention but I won’t go any further, because he’s not our player,” Marotta said.

The reporter then asked about a possible move for Cagliari midfielder Nahitan Nandez.

“In this phase of the transfer market, many players are approached by the big clubs,” the CEO continued. “Nandez is a highly respected Cagliari player, but at the moment we are not negotiating with them.

“Right now, I don’t see a quick and simple negotiation on the horizon.”

Manchester United left-back Alex Telles has been linked with a return to Inter too.

“I won’t rule out anything, but at the moment we are focusing on evaluating all the opportunities without the haste of having to close this or that operation.”

Former Lazio and Inter attacker Keita Balde spent last season on loan at Sampdoria, and Moratta was asked if the Monaco forward was a player Simone Inzaghi wants at San Siro.

“He’s not our property,” he said. “I don’t even know if he’s on the market, we are evaluating the workforce.”

The 23-year-old left-back Federico Dimarco returned to Inter from his stint on loan with Hellas Verona and Marotta said he will play a role for the Nerazzurri in 2021-22.

“Absolutely. He represents the present and the future of Inter, he’s being observed by Inzaghi,” Marotta confirmed.

“He can be a pleasant reality of this season as well. Wearing the Inter shirt is a source of great pride for anyone.”
