Midfielder Tommaso Pobega said he feels at ‘home’ with Milan and hopes to ‘do well and show off’ during the pre-season. ‘Then the coach and the club will evaluate’.

The 22-year-old returned to Milan from a stint on loan with Spezia last term and was part of the Rossoneri side which won 6-0 against Pro Sesto on Saturday.

Pobega played 20 times in Serie A last term, as Spezia secured safety under Vincenzo Italiano, but now he’s hoping to impress at Milanello.

“We are training well and today it went well,” Pobega told MilanTV after the match. “We are reacting well.

“As soon as you enter, you see that there’s a good group. When you come back here, you feel the air of home.”

Pobega said coach Stefano Pioli has asked the players to return to ‘full capacity’ as soon as possible.

“He’s asking us to return to full capacity. We stopped for a month,” the youngster continued. “We have to resume doing the things that were done at the end of the year.

“And we must put them into practice.”

Pobega spent the last few years on loan and has been linked with another move away from the Diavolo this summer but is intending to fight for a place in the squad.

“Everyone who is here wants to do well and show off,” he continued. “Then the evaluations will be made by the coach and the club.”
