Villarreal Coach Marcelino says his side need “at least one goal” against Napoli in the Europa League tomorrow.

The Spanish side won the first leg of their Europa League Last 32 tie 1-0, and face the Partenopei at San Paolo tomorrow.

“It’s an important game for us,” Marcelino explained in his pre-match Press conference.

“The feeling is good, we’re going through a good period and we hope to progress, though it’ll be difficult.

“Napoli have great potential. The first leg favours us, but tomorrow we’re playing for qualification.

“We have to defend well, and we’ll also try to score at least one goal. To get two or three goals is quite difficult.

“We’re coming up against a great opponent, they’ve shown that all season. We’ll try to get a good result though, balance is what will be important.

“We’ll defend well, and when we have possession of the ball we’ll try to score goals.

“If we don’t defend well we could even end up getting thrashed, firstly we have to defend well.

“They’ll try to get an early goal, they attack very well and they switch to defence immediately as soon as they lose the ball, with great pressing and a high defensive line.

“They play a different kind of football from the others and they’re high-up in the League in Italy.”

Gonzalo Higuain has been in lethal form for the Vesuviani this season, is the main danger tomorrow night?

“Yes, no doubt, his 24 goals are testament to that, and we know him from his past in La Liga [with Real Madrid].

“He’s a great player, but our team can defend well and we’ll be alert to his movements if Pipita plays from the start. He’s in top form.

“We’ll prepare for this game as though he’ll be playing from the first minute.”
