Coach Stefano Pioli admits tomorrow’s Galatasaray game is “crucial” for Lazio’s season.

The Biancocelesti finished third in Serie A last season and reached the Coppa Italia final, but have struggled this season, giving greater importance to the Europa League.

“Yes, it’s a crucial match,” Pioli acknowledged in the Press conference ahead of the Last 32 second leg against Galatasaray.

“We’re staking a lot on the Europa League, we’ve done well so far but what counts is tomorrow night. We want to go through.

“It’s an important game, we’re doing very well in the Europa League. We’ll assess things in the League when we get back to playing there, now we just want to go through.”

A 0-0 draw would see the Aquile progress after the 1-1 draw in the first leg, but Pioli isn’t staking the tie on their away goal.

“If you go onto the pitch to win the game you’ll have more chance of getting a positive result. We’ll take note of what happened in Turkey, both technically and in terms of attitude.”
