Roma defender Kostas Manolas is set for a derby return from injury when the Giallorossi take on Lazio on December 4th.

After withdrawing from the squad just hours before Thursday night’s Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen, the severity of the injury was initially unclear.

The problem has now been attributed to a muscle contraction and there is no sign of any legion, meaning that the Greek centre-back has not suffered any serious damage.

It is thought that the 25-year-old will miss the next match as a precaution, and will be ready to return the following week against derby rivals Lazio.

Roma take on Pescara at the Olimpico at 19:45 GMT on Sunday evening and currently sit in second place, seven points behind leaders Juventus.
