Parma President Giampietro Manenti insists that the game at Genoa on Sunday will go ahead, and hits out at the old regime.

The Ducali were forced to cancel their match with Udinese last weekend as they were unable to pay the stewarding costs for their stadium, but the patron is confident this Sunday’s game will happen.

“The next game will be played as normal,” Manenti proclaimed in an interview with Sportal.

“As for the Udinese game we’ll see when we’ll be able to replay it. We’re trying to fix the situation, but lately we haven’t had the chance to work properly, we’ve had to chase up problems.

“Everyone’s against us, but we’ll go forward. The meeting with the mayor [on Friday] will not be decisive, what’s more important is what we do with the prosecutors.

“I expected a warmer reception in Parma, even in the Italian system. The old management should be blamed, not the new one that you don’t yet know and don’t know how it works.

“However, I’m used to working in hostile conditions, I look forward with confidence.”
