Roberto Mancini says Inter remain 'hopeful' for Yaya Touré, whilst discussing Geoffrey Kondogbia and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Manchester City midfielder has been playing a bit of a hesitant transfer game with the Nerazzurri, as a recent interview with the Manchester Evening News saw him declaring his affection for his current club.

Mancini, in a long interview with La Stampa, explained that he doesn't consider matters to be closed yet.

“He was the one who told me he wanted to look for new destinations,” said the Coach.

“I spent six months explaining to him what he would find at Inter, then he spoke with his club and he fell out of the radar.

“But I haven't given up on this, I'm waiting to hear his own side of the story and in the meantime I remain hopeful.

“Or else why would he have spent six months telling me that he wanted to come to Milan?"

Another Inter target is Kondogbia, but there appears to be a race with their city-rivals Milan to sign the 22-year-old Frenchman.

“Good players are the same ones for everyone. And not all of them can be taken away from their respective teams. It's normal that there should be competition.

“Ibrahimovic? He's a great champion, but we never discussed him.

“There will be time to develop this mercato. Let's see what happens. I have some specific requests, but the team I have now is no joke either. I can do well even with these players.”
