Olivier Giroud is reportedly close to signing a new Milan contract, but also has rumoured interest from Manchester United and MLS clubs.

The 36-year-old made a big impression at the 2022 World Cup for France last month, helping them reach the Final with four goals in six appearances, allowing him to become the country’s all-time top scorer ahead of Thierry Henry.

His contract only runs to June 30 and it is widely reported that he is ready to sign a new deal, although he wants two years and Milan are offering one plus an option for a second season.

However, things might be changing and today there are two different worrying transfer rumours for the Rossoneri to deal with.

The first is a suggestion from Times Sport that Manchester United are keeping an eye on Giroud as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left by mutual consent in November.

Another is from Taylor Twellman, who claims Giroud has rejected the latest offer from Milan and is exploring the idea of a Major League Soccer move with several clubs.

  1. We won’t be able to compete with the salary offered by MLS or Man U. So, this is all up to Giroud now. Does he want a pocket full of coins, riding into the sunset or continue competing at the highest level as a leader and reference point for the youngsters in the locker room.

Either way, I would be grateful for his services.
