It is the pinnacle of the European football season and these Manchester City vs. Inter predictions suggest that the Serie A side have a tough task on their hands. But Manchester City have never won the Champions League, so could Inter upset the odds and claim a fourth title?

Manchester City vs. Inter odds

1 – Manchester City to win – 9/20

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 11/10

3 – Both teams not to score – 4/5

4 – Ilkay Gündogan to score at anytime – 4/1

5 – Manchester City to score over 1.5 goals – 8/15

Manchester City are odds-on favourites to win the Champions League in Istanbul on June 10th – and it is not difficult to work out why. Pep Guardiola’s side have just won the English Premier League for the fifth time in six seasons and are on the cusp of claiming the treble after winning the FA Cup at the weekend.

City were pushed all the way for the league title, as Arsenal surprised everyone for a while, but it is this trophy that the club’s wealthy owners covet more than any other – and Inter are not being given much of a chance by most people to stand in their way.

Erling Haaland may not have scored in his last few games but he is always going to be a major threat. But, even if the Norway striker doesn’t find the net, there are plenty of others that could score the all-important goals. Ilkay Gündogan is one – and he is our tip to score at anytime at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium.

Inter obviously have their work cut out. But this is a side that have saved their best for the cup competitions this season – and already have the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana safely in the trophy cabinet at the San Siro.

Simone Inzaghi will need his attacking wingbacks to exploit any slight weakness in the City defence if Inter are to cause an upset. He will also be relying on Lautaro Martinez to continue what has been an exemplary personal season and score an early goal that could shake up the City players.

Inter will need to keep defensively tight themselves in the early exchanges though, as an early City goal could kill off the game before it has really even begun. Inter will surely give everything in Istanbul as they chase Champions League success again, but it should be Manchester City that end their own personal quest to lift the most prestigious trophy in European club football.

Manchester City vs. Inter line-ups

Manchester City (3-4-2-1): Ederson; Walker, Akanji, Dias; Silva, Stones, Rodri, Grealish; Gündogan, De Bruyne; Haaland

Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, Bastoni, de Vrij; Dumfries, Çalhanoglu, Barella, Brozović, Dimarco; Lukaku, Martinez

Manchester City team news

Kyle Walker limped off the Wembley pitch at the FA Cup final but should be fine to make the starting line-up here. But Nathan Aké may give way to Manuel Akanji again. Pep Guardiola will probably stick with the majority of his cup-winning starting XI – but look out for the likes of Phil Foden and Julián Álvarez later in the game, especially if City need goals.

Inter team news

Simone Inzaghi has a few options for his starting line-up but may have to without Henrikh Mkhitaryan if his injury doesn’t clear up in time. Nicolò Barella could get a call up after missing out on the last few games, while Romelu Lukaku should get the nod up front. Edin Džeko might get a look in later though.
