Manchester United are ready to pay the €36m release clause and offer Roma defender Kostas Manolas €6m per year, it’s reported.

The Giallorossi are negotiating to get the clause either increased or removed entirely in a new contract, but so far there has been no deal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United are prepared to pay the €36m at the end of the season.

They’ll also tempt the Greek international away from the Stadio Olimpico with a salary worth €6m per year.

Manolas has been at Roma since 2014, having previously played for Thrasyvoulos, AEK Athens and Olympiacos.

Manchester United aren’t the only ones interested in pouncing for Manolas, as Juventus are also keeping a close eye on the situation, having previously snapped up Miralem Pjanic by paying his release clause.
