Manchester City are resuming their pursuit of Juventus full-back Joao Cancelo, claim Sportitalia, with the asking price still €50m.

The Portugal international is not part of Coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans and was lambasted by fans on social media when spotted putting very little effort into pre-season training.

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain had also shown interest, but Cancelo’s name slipped down the pecking orders in recent weeks.

According to Sportitalia, Manchester City are ready to pick up the pace again and try to get the deal done before the Premier League transfer window shuts on August 9.

The negotiations had faltered because City were determined to include Danilo as part of the deal, or at least to sell him first in order to raise funds, but time is running out and Pep Guardiola is demanding a reinforcement in that area of the squad.
