There are multiple reports in Italy that Roma have agreed personal terms with Ainsley Maitland-Niles, but still need to reach a deal with Arsenal.

The 24-year-old could be the third England international to join the Giallorossi and work with coach Jose Mourinho after Chris Smalling and Tammy Abraham.

According to Sportitalia, Sky Sport Italia and more, Roma have now agreed personal terms with the right-sided midfielder and right-back.

He is eager to make the move to the Italian Capital after his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion.

Maitland-Niles has only 11 appearances for Arsenal so far this season, providing one assist.

His contract only runs to June 2023, so the attempt to get him on loan with an option to buy is proving a difficult negotiation process.

Sky Sport Italia report the offer on the table is a six-month loan for €750,000 with option to buy for a further €10m.

The Giallorossi hope to have Maitland-Niles at their disposal by the time the Serie A season resumes on January 6.
