“Chievo was a strange match in some ways, maybe we were a bit drained after [Manchester] City, but we know our strength and we want to continue to do well.

“You can’t always go at 100km/h.

“Napoli-Milan? The result with Sassuolo will have given the Rossoneri a bit of enthusiasm, given they were expecting more from the early rounds.

“We have to think about ourselves though, we’ll have the fans behind us and we’ll give our all.”

Napoli are staring down the barrel of Champions League elimination though, as they need to win their last two games and hope Manchester City beat Shakhtar Donetsk.

“We have to try and win these two matches to hope for qualification. It won’t be easy because it depends on other teams, but first we have to make the most of our two matches.”

Lorenzo Insigne has been on fire for the Partenopei this season, but it’s expected he won’t start for Italy against Sweden tomorrow.

“Lorenzo is in incredible condition right now,” Maggio said.

“It’s obvious we think he should start against Sweden, but we have to adhere to Ventura’s choices.”
