Napoli defender Christian Maggio believes “Juventus are in a bit of trouble, it’s pointless denying it” but “they have seven lives, like a cat”.

The Partenopei face the champions at the San Paolo on Friday, and will go seven points clear of the Bianconeri if they win the match.

“It’s not a match like the others,” Maggio admitted, speaking to ANSA.

“I also feel it because I’ve been at Napoli for 10 years, since we were refounded and I know what it means.

“I also feel it because I’ve been at Napoli for 10 years, since we were refounded and I know what it means.

“Juve are in a bit of trouble, it’s pointless denying it, while we’re fired-up and determined, but we have to realise we haven’t done anything yet.

“This year we are also managing the defensive phase, and we also get results when we’re not at our best.”

The right-back also spoke to the local RAI station about the match.

“We believe we can share a very important Friday with our fans before trying to pull off a coup in the Champions League in the Netherlands.

“We know that we can play a role of absolute value in the league, with our play and our determination.

“That said, Juve have seven lives, like a cat.”

In Italy, cats are said to have seven lives, rather than the nine in Anglo-Saxon countries.
