Alessandria sporting director Giuseppe Magalini says their Coppa Italia run is a “wonderful adventure”.

The Grigi face Milan in the first leg of their semi-final tie tonight, with the game having been moved to Torino’s Stadio Olimpico to cope with demand.

“The Coppa Italia began in early August for us,” Magalini told Milan Channel.

“We saw it as useful preparation for the League, then little by little it’s become the wonderful adventure that we’re experiencing now.

“There’s huge enthusiasm among our fans, I’ve just been told that we’ve sold more than 20,000 tickets for the Milan match.

“I don’t know if our distinguishing feature is hard work, [Coach Angelo] Gregucci has done a great job in assembling the squad and giving it an identity.”

Alessandria are the first Lega Pro side to make the semi-finals since Bari in 1984.
