Reports in Spain are linking Real Madrid with a €200m move for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, with a potential windfall for Roma if they included a sell-on clause.

The Egyptian has been in sensational form since joining the Reds last summer, with 42 goals and 13 assists in 48 club games so far this season.

According to AS, Los Merengues want to make a statement this summer, and could do so by signing Salah.

While Liverpool would demand around €200m, the move could be funded by selling players like Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

While Liverpool would demand around €200m, the move could be funded by selling players like Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

Adding credence to the rumours, AS reports, is the widespread belief that the Premier League side will sign Lyon’s Nabil Fekir for around €70m.

If the sensational transfer happens it could generate a windfall for Roma, who may have included a sell-on clause when they sold Salah.

The forward signed for €42m, with “various additional clauses, worth up to a total of €8m, based on the player and Liverpool achieving certain performance-related targets”.

There is no mention of a sell-on clause, but Chelsea made around €3.5m out of the sale to the Reds with a clause of their own, so it would make sense for the Giallorossi to include a similar sell-on clause.
