The Italy international has been linked with both Los Blancos and Juventus ever since his summer 2012 transfer from Pescara to the French capital.

Whilst both he and his agent have continually pressed that he is happy and intends to remain with Paris Saint-Germain, reports continue to circulate of a possible move.

The Gazzetta dello Sport indicate today that Madrid are pushing for the 21-year-old and that, with Carlo Ancelotti’s blessing, will today meet with his agent Donato Di Campli for significant talks.

Los Merengues are seen as believing they are in with a chance of picking up Verratti for around €30m this summer, given PSG’s outlay both actual and expected this summer.

On from spending €50m on David Luiz, the club are expected to spend a similar amount on reputed target Eden Hazard. With Financial Fair Play stipulations to try to adhere to, PSG are expected to raise income with a ‘major sale’.
