“We must always give our best, regardless of whether we are captain or not, as that is what we’re paid for. Becoming captain is no mean feat and I thank everyone from my teammates to the club, Coach and fans for giving me this opportunity.

“We’ve prepared well for this Final and tomorrow our first objective of the season is to bring home this trophy. There’s no need for one player to fire up the rest, as if you can’t be fired up for a trophy, I don’t know what would do it. We all know what we have to do.

“There mustn’t be fear. Juventus are the favourites and the best team in Italy, but we’ll give it our all. We too have strong players and hope tomorrow to beat this Juventus.

“Mistakes were made in the Coppa Italia Final and I hope this time Juve get things wrong so we can score. We must try to make the most of our chances.”
