Luis Enrique has reportedly snubbed an offer from Chelsea but is tempted to join Serie A champions Napoli.

Luciano Spalletti is set to leave the Partenopei at the end of the season after ending a 33-year wait for the Scudetto.

Luis Enrique has been linked with the job at the Stadio Maradona. Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport claimed on Tuesday that the Spaniard is quickly becoming the favourite to replace Spalletti in 2023-24.

According to Gazzetta, Luis Enrique, who has already worked in Serie A with Roma, rejected an offer from Chelsea only a few weeks ago but is tempted by a return to the Peninsula.

However, the pink paper reports no contact has yet been made between President Aurelio De Laurentiis and the ex-Spain and Roma coach.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims Luis Enrique is quickly becoming the leading candidate for the role, although ADL has also spoken to Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann.

According to the report, De Laurentiis has been in touch with five different candidates for the job, the other three names are unknown, but one could be the 53-year-old who left Spain’s national team after the Qatar World Cup.
