Multiple reports in Italy claim unhappy Juventus owner John Elkann called Massimiliano Allegri on Tuesday and that the coach won’t necessarily remain in charge in 2023-24.

The Bianconeri are set to complete the second consecutive trophyless season, but Allegri confirmed last week that he is not planning to leave.

Juventus owner Elkann and CEO Francesco Calvo have also publicly confirmed their trust in the Livorno-born coach, but this doesn’t mean Allegri will remain in charge next season.

Tuttosport and Il Corriere dello Sport (page 8) claim Elkann called Allegri on Tuesday in the aftermath of a 4-1 loss to Empoli. Elkann was reportedly unhappy with the ‘victim’ mentality that emerged during Allegri’s post-match interviews.

Allegri has two years left in his contract with the Old Lady, but this doesn’t guarantee him the job for next season.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Juventus could negotiate a payout clause and part ways with the 55-year-old at the end of the current campaign.

Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti confirms the coach is under scrutiny and to imagine a Juventus with a different man in the dugout next season is not an unlikely scenario.

Some players are unhappy with the coach’s management which could also have an impact on Juventus’ decision.
