Lazio President Claudio Lotito says he is committed to taking the club back to the top and wants fans to help him achieve it.

Lotito was the subject of fierce protests last season by sections of the Biancocelesti’s support against his running of the Stadio Olimpico side.

However, the 57-year-old now wants past problems to be put to one side and for the club to be unified in getting behind the team.

“It’s in the plain interests of the club to put out a competitive team that is capable of getting great results,” Lotito is quoted as saying by Calcio News 24.

“The club is working 24 hours a day on the transfer market and different targets have already been identified.

“It shows the commitment we have to take the club back to the top level in Europe.

“In recent days I have issued a very clear call to the fans. Let’s abandon the grievances of the past and show our love for the Biancoceleste colours and SS Lazio. We have overcome adversity in recent years.

“Let’s get over another obstacle and let’s help the team get back on top together. I hope the Curva Nord goes back to being the 12th man on the pitch.”
