According to whispers in the peninsula, both Arsenal and Chelsea had representatives at the Stadio Bentegodi yesterday.

Although he scored two spot-kicks in the 3-2 win over Parma, boss Andrea Mandorlini wasn’t too impressed with his performance.

“I think he played his worst game of the season,” the tactician told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “I changed his position more than once because he was struggling.

“In the end I decided to not replace him and perhaps that was the right decision…”
