The number of confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in Italy is ever-rising, with a staggering increase in the Lombardy region within the last 24 hours.

As of writing, there are 4,189 confirmed cases of the virus in the Lombardy region, an increase of over 700 in the last 24 hours, and is by far the worst affected region in the country.

The next hardest hit region is Emilia-Romagna, home to Parma, SPAL, Sassuolo and Bologna, with over 1,000 confirmed cases.

The south of Italy remains relatively unaffected by the virus, with the worst-hit region being Campania, with 101 cases.

The Basilicata region has reported only four cases, whilst Calabria, at the bottom of the country, has reported only nine.

The death toll now stands at 366 throughout the country.

Overall, there is a reported 7,375 confirmed cases in Italy.
