Alexis Sanchez is the only player who has not yet returned to Inter following the international break after a series of logistical issues reportedly held the Chilean up in South America.

According to reports from Sky Sport Italia on Thursday afternoon, Sanchez was not able to arrange a flight that would have him back in Milan in time to return to training with the rest of the group on Thursday morning.

It is expected that the 34-year-old will return to Inter’s headquarters on Friday instead, although it is not yet known whether he will be included in the squad for the derby against Milan on Saturday.

It has been a rollercoaster international break for the Chilean, who was originally not involved in training with his national side and later missed the first game against Uruguay on Saturday.

It was later reported that Sanchez had been suffering with a minor form of anaemia, although reports claim that Inter had already been aware of the condition at the time of his signing from Marseille this summer.

Sanchez was deemed fit enough to start for Chile in their following game against Colombia on Tuesday, eventually playing the full 90 minutes in a 0-0 draw.
