The Hugo Lloris connection with Inter is spreading rapidly in France, with reports they have been in contact with the Tottenham goalkeeper for weeks and would arrive along with Anatoliy Trubin.

As multiple sources today are confident a deal is imminent between Manchester United and Inter for Andre Onana, with a sale of €50m plus €5m in bonuses, the search is on for a replacement.

Footmercato initially reported there had been a step up in talks over the last couple of days for Lloris, but now L’Equipe and RMC Sport are going so far as to suggest negotiations have been going on for weeks between Inter and his entourage.

Lloris is down to his final year under contract with Tottenham and has already said last month he wants a new challenge.

Ironically, Spurs already replaced him with Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who was the first choice for Inter as heir to Onana.

If Lloris does arrive at San Siro, it will likely be along with 21-year-old Ukrainian goalkeeper Trubin, who could be helped to settle with a more experienced figure when he comes from Shakhtar Donetsk.

That would mean letting Samir Handanovic go, as his contract has already expired, but director Piero Ausilio confirmed the club was ‘evaluating’ whether to sign him to a new deal.
