Former Juventus striker Fernando Llorente assures “the goals will come” for Alvaro Morata.

The Bianconeri striker hasn’t found the net since a 3-1 win over Bologna in October, but his former teammate, now at Sevilla, backs his compatriot to recover his best form.

“I’d definitely prefer to be there with him,” Llorente told Tuttosport when asked about Morata.

“We got on very well together. Having a Spanish teammate to talk to was also an advantage. We’re still very close.

“Alvaro not playing much is strange, he’s certainly not going through a good period, because it’s tough for a striker not to score.

“It’s all you can think about, and it’s not easy. But rest assured: the goals will come.

“Alvaro is very strong, and once he starts scoring he won’t stop. He just needs playing time and a little bit of luck. I hope he can get 15 goals.

“Could he return to Real Madrid? It will depend on the next few months, these are personal choices. Alvaro is certainly happy in Turin and at Juventus.”

The Old Lady endured a difficult start to the Serie A season, but after seeing his old side win seven games in a row, Llorente is tipping them for a fifth consecutive Scudetto.

“It’s a crazy comeback, but I know my former teammates, they’re very strong. Now they’ve found consistency, they’ll put the fear into Inter, Napoli and Fiorentina.

“Juve won’t stop, it’s a squad accustomed to winning. I think they’ll win the Scudetto again.

“It’s more difficult to win again, after so many changes. If it happens, I’ll be celebrating, whether that’s in Seville or by coming to Turin.”

The big striker was also asked about his best moments from last season, and surprisingly doesn’t name the run to the Champions League final.

“Best moment? Winning the League,” Llorente recalls.

“But also the successes in the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa. The run in Europe was exciting, it’s true, but it’s sad to get that far and lose, even though we were playing Barcelona.

“By my nature I prefer to look ahead, to the next final.”
