Fernando Llorente says he is ‘glad to be back’ on Italian soil after arriving to complete his free transfer to Napoli.

Llorente landed in Rome on Friday evening to sign his two-year contract with Napoli, although he must undergo a medical first.

“I’m glad to be back, but it’s still early and I can’t say anything else,” the former Juventus striker told Sky Sport Italia.

“Let’s wait a little longer so I can tell you more. Napoli surprised me, they made me feel important.

“I’ll only talk to Ancelotti once everything’s done.”

The 34-year-old then looked ahead Saturday’s showdown in Turin and showed his support to Giorgio Chiellini after his ex-teammate was struck down by a serious knee injury.

I expect Juve-Napoli to be a great game, let’s hope my team win.

“I’m sorry for Chiellini, he’s a great friend of mine and no-one deserves such a bad injury.”
