The Biancocelesti have made some significant changes this summer, but they suffered a 3-1 reverse at San Siro on Sunday.
“I saw a good Lazio against Milan,” the ex-Genoa boss told Radio IES. “They were just punished for a number of incidents.
“I think Lazio have built an excellent squad and new boss Stefano Pioli has clearly already done some hard work.
“A few adjustments will arrive with time, but I’ve already seen some interesting things. The side has a clear idea of what the Coach wants from them.
“The squad is competitive and it has much more quality than last season’s. I think qualifying for the Europa League is possible for the capital club.”
Lazio entertain Cesena in Week 2 once the international break is over.
