There are still numerous injury problems, as Alessio Cerci, Luca Antonelli, Adil Rami, Riccardo Montolivo, Michael Essien and suspended Jeremy Menez miss out.

Stephan El Shaarawy is at least back on the bench for the first time since fracturing a bone in his foot in January.

Mattia Destro leads the attack with Keisuke Honda and Jack Bonaventura, but Daniele Bonera has to make do as a left-back.

Sassuolo also count absentees Emanuele Terranova, Ciro Polito and Luca Antei.

Their main strength is in attack with Domenico Berardi, Simone Zaza and Nicola Sansone.

These two sides have never played out a draw, securing two victories each between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.

Sassuolo earned a shock 2-1 win at San Siro back in January and their famous 4-3 result here in January 2014 got Max Allegri sacked.

This is an odd game for Sassuolo President Giorgio Squinzi, who is a self-confessed Milan supporter and friend to Silvio Berlusconi.
