Luciano Spalletti’s men were the only unbeaten team in Italy up until a few weeks ago, but have since plummeted with defeats to Udinese, Sassuolo and a Coppa Italia exit to Milan on Wednesday night.

That tie went to extra time, decided by a Patrick Cutrone strike, and left the Nerazzurri demoralised after such a strong start to the season.

A victory here would take Lazio within a point of Inter in the Serie A standings – with a game in hand – while Roma are also piling on the pressure.

Joao Miranda and Danilo D’Ambrosio are still out injured, as Joao Cancelo and Davide Santon take the full-back roles, Andrea Ranocchia filling in for central defence.

It’s a special game for former Lazio winger Antonio Candreva, who partners Borja Valero, Ivan Perisic and Capocannoniere Mauro Icardi.

Lazio were also in the Coppa Italia midweek, but beat Fiorentina 1-0 on Tuesday to set up a Semi-Final against Milan.

Felipe Caicedo limped off with a muscular injury and will be out for a few weeks, but Ciro Immobile has shaken off flu symptoms to start with support from Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

All eyes will be on Stefan de Vrij, as his contract expires in June and Inter are the favourites to sign the Dutch defender as a free agent.

Lazio have only won nine of their 74 Serie A trips to Inter, losing 41 and drawing 24. The most recent victory was 2-1 in December 2015.
