Stephan Lichtsteiner’s contract saga could be approaching a conclusion, with reports indicating the Juventus defender is close to a renewal.

The full-back’s contract expires in the summer, and the Swiss international has been linked with numerous clubs including Arsenal, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain as talks over a new deal have dragged on.

The full-back’s contract expires in the summer, and the Swiss international has been linked with numerous clubs including Arsenal, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain as talks over a new deal have dragged on.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website is today reporting that the former Lazio man is close to renewing his contract in Turin.

According to the site the player’s agent, Federico Pastorello, held a meeting with Juventus hierarchy in Turin this afternoon at Juventus HQ.

While an agreement has not yet been reached, Di Marzio reports that the two parties have provisionally agreed on a deal which would run until 2017.
