Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani arrived at Sampdoria’s training centre today to continue negotiating a possible takeover of the club.

The Italian businessman, working with associate Matteo Manfredi and local entrepreneur Jordan Rocca, has presented a binding offer for Sampdoria and offered to immediately invest €55m into the club, with a further €20m also available.

Sampdoria have been rocked by financial issues this season and have debts that need to be covered by May 30, including €13.5m in unpaid player wages. Should they fail to resolve the situation, they may not be able to register in Serie B for next season.

Sky Sports Italia details how Radrizzani arrived at the Bogliasco training centre this morning to continue discussions with Sampdoria, keen to get the takeover across the line. When asked about the deal, the Leeds United owner said: “’Let’s hope so, fingers crossed.”

Radrizzani took over Leeds United in 2017 and guided them back to the Premier League, but with one match to play they find themselves 18th in the table, on track for relegation.
