Corriere dello Sport suggests that Napoli will officially confirm the departure of coach Luciano Spalletti after their final game of the season against Sampdoria.

The 64-year-old Italian coach did the impossible in Campania this season, breaking a 33-year wait by guiding the Partenopei to the Scudetto, employing an electric brand of attacking football.

Spalletti and Napoli’s success sparked wild scenes of celebration across the Campania capital, but in the weeks since tensions have started to brew between the coach and president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

The Napoli coach practically confirmed his decision to leave when speaking after the 3-1 win over Inter, saying: “If you are not convinced that you can give everything these people deserve, it’s right to think it over. You think it over, you arrive at a conclusion and then you stick with it.”

As reported by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Napoli will officially announce the departure of Spalletti after their final match of the season against Sampdoria on June 4.

Although he’s been with the Partenopei since July 2021, the 64-year-old hasn’t purchased a home in the Campania capital and has been living at hotels and the training ground since his arrival.
