The Lega Serie A confirmed that group training will resume from May 18, with the games on target to begin from June 13.

There have been complaints from clubs and medical staff that they will be considered liable if a player tests positive for COVID-19, while the entire squad would have to be quarantined for 15 days if one person catches coronavirus.

“As medics, we are ready to take on the risk and the responsibility in these decisions,” Lecce chief medic Giuseppe Congedo told Radio Marte.

“If we respect the protocol, then the risk will be very low and we have to accept them. There are still a few question marks, but that’s part of the game.

“We are already organised, made the blood tests and will repeat them 72 hours before the training retreat begins.”
