The hosts face an inconsistent Neroverdi in mid-week and these Lazio vs. Sassuolo predictions suggest that they should be confident. But Maurizio Sarri’s side have a tough run of fixtures and will be keen to get points on the board on Wednesday evening.

Lazio vs. Sassuolo odds

1 – Lazio to win – 8/11

2 – Both teams not to score – 10/11

3 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 1/1

4 – Ciro Immobile to score first – 11/4

5 – Sassuolo to win – 4/1

Lazio continue their Serie A campaign on Wednesday evening, as they welcome Sassuolo to the Stadio Olimpico. The Aquile are fighting for second place in the Serie A table, but now have Juventus breathing down their neck and will be keen to avoid any slip-ups.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have been remarkably consistent in the league in recent months, losing just one game since mid-February. Lazio’s defeat last weekend against Torino is forgivable, given that Ciro Immobile missed out through injury and they were up against one of the best organised teams in Serie A.

Against Sassuolo, however, there will be no room for error. Wednesday’s game comes sandwiched between tougher fixtures against Inter and Milan. Fortunately for the hosts, they go into this match as strong favourites and are our tip to take all three points.

One of the biggest improvements for the Aquile this season has been their back line. The partnership of Alessio Romagnoli and Nicolo Casale has proven the joint best in the league, conceding just 0.75 goals per game.

For Sassuolo, the opposite end of the pitch has been a struggle during this campaign, averaging less than a goal per game over their last five matches. As a result, a wager on under 2.5 goals to be scored, or on just one team to make it onto the scoresheet on Wednesday, should pay off.

Despite the odds being stacked heavily against them, Sassuolo may seek some hope from the recent history between the two sides. The Neroverdi have managed to beat Lazio in each of the last two seasons and are therefore due a success before this campaign is over.

Should Sarri risk rotating his starting XI in order to keep players fresh for the weekend trip to Milan, there is no reason that the visitors can’t go out and look to take three points back from the capital.
