Fabio Quagliarella is in a transfer tug-of-war between Roma and Lazio, also involving Alberto Gilardino and Marco Borriello.

Several different sources including Sky Sport Italia and SportItalia maintain there’s a chain reaction in the works on deadline day.

If Juventus” data-scaytid=”10″>Juventus buy Gilardino from Genoa, then the Rossoblu will bring back Borriello from Roma.

The third part of the puzzle was Quagliarella leaving Juve to replace Borriello in the Giallorossi squad.

However, Lazio have now sensationally dived into the running for Quagliarella after abandoning their negotiations with Galatasaray for Burak Yilmaz.

There had been reports the deal was done for Yilmaz, but it all collapsed when Galatasaray raised the price-tag again and his agent demanded a €2m fee.

Roma and Lazio aren’t the only clubs who want Quagliarella, as the Juventus and Italy forward is also a target in the Premier League for West Ham, Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

Meanwhile, Genoa are reinforcing their attack and have reportedly started talks with Napoli for Emanuele Calaiò.
