Lazio have announced that they’ll be fully reimbursing the 225 fans who attended the 5-1 defeat to FC Midtjylland.

The Biancocelesti suffered an incredibly painful thrashing at the hands of the Danish side at the MCH Arena last side, with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s consolation goal doing little to help stomach the bitter pill. Maurizio Sarri was furious after the defeat, feeling that his team were too cocky in the first half.

Lazio announced today that they’ll reimburse the 225 fans who attended the MCH Arena last night to watch the 5-1 defeat, their worst loss in Europe in two decades.

Whilst the defeat was both embarrassing and confusing, it’s still a positive gesture by the club. The players apologised to their away support after the full time whistle, looking forlorn and shell-shocked.

Last year, intercity rivals Roma considered doing the same for the 166 fans who attended their away loss to Bodo/Glimt, but then they opted to give them tickets to the Europa Conference League final instead.

The Roman club will be looking to regroup ahead of their next Serie A clash against newly promoted Cremonese.
