Lazio failed to break the deadlock in their pre-season friendly against the Qatar national team today.

The Biancocelesti suffered a frustrating 4-1 defeat to Genoa in their last pre-season outing and Maurizio Sarri was clearly hoping for a more emphatic response from his squad today, in their fairly unique matchup against a national side.

Lazio had a decent first half in the match, picking up a number of chances but failing to find the final product. Frustratingly, Ciro Immobile hit the post from the penalty spot, keeping things goalless. Things fell off a little in the second half following a round of substitutions and the pace of the game dropped, which eventually saw it peter out to a 0-0 draw.

Sarri and his squad will now have to look back at their last two outings and identify the issues ahead of the rapidly approaching Serie A season. Lazio’s first game is against Bologna on August 14.

  1. The team is doing morning training sessions and afternoon friendlies, fitness is hard to find, those friendly matches mean nothing. 14 August the team will be ready for an easy win against Bologna!

  2. I m not disrespectful i m just saying we have a good history against them in Olimpico. Can’t remember the last time we suffered a home defeat against them and last season the score was 3-0.

  3. I agree with I giardini di marzo he is not being disrespectful he is saying the truth we have a great record against. The ones that are disrespectful are fans at Juventus and Ac and Inter Milan because they are the top clubs and teams like Lazio aren’t making top 4 but are always making a Europa League. And as well people do take friendly’s too seriously.
