Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent admits a return to Italy is “a possibility” but his client won’t be returning to Napoli.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been linked with Inter and Juventus, with speculation increased by the fact his representative is in Italy this week.

“[President Aurelio] De Laurentiis has always been clear about not wanting a return to Napoli for Pocho,” Alejandro Mazzoni explained in an interview with Radio Crc.

“The President probably wants a team that’s more European than South American. Lavezzi is out of contract and has nostalgia for Italy, a return to Serie A is a possibility.

“The first choice would be a return to Napoli, but – in view of the President’s desire – to see him in Azzurro is not a possibility.

“Naples is Lavezzi’s second home, but let’s see what happens in the future. I think he’ll stay at PSG until June, and then we’ll see what to choose.

“At the moment, the two or three teams in Serie A who could get him have a big rivalry with Napoli, and to see him as an opponent wouldn’t be nice for the Napoli fans.”

Mazzoni also backed the Partenopei in this year’s Scudetto race.

“I think Napoli have everything required to win it. When you win games like the one against Inter, you can get to the top.”
