Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has recovered from COVID and has already begun training ahead of Sunday’s match against Juventus.

Last week, the Argentinean striker tested positive for Coronavirus and didn’t travel to South America for international duty with Argentina. El Toro had a negative swab test yesterday morning, one week after his positive test. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the striker immediately returned to Appiano Gentile to train ahead of Sunday’s away clash with Juventus.

Inter have had highs and lows in 2022, slipping six points behind Milan, although with a game in hand. Lautaro has only scored five goals since January, three in Serie A (a hat-trick against Salernitana), one against Juventus in the Supercoppa Final, and one against Liverpool at Anfield.

He has 16 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions this season. He is expected to start against Juventus next weekend when Simone Inzaghi hopes to see Marcelo Brozovic and Stefan de Vrij return to action.
