Roberto Meloni, the agent of Armand Lauriente, confirmed the interest in the Sassuolo winger ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old French winger was the star of the show in the Neroverdi’s thrilling 4-3 win over Roma, scoring a brace within 20 minutes to guide his team to an important three points in the Italian capital.

Sassuolo paid FC Lorient around €10m for Lauriente last summer and his performances in recent weeks have made this deal look a bargain for the Reggio Emilia outfit.

Speaking to TMW, Meloni first discussed Lauriente’s explosive form for Sassuolo in recent weeks.

“Now he is understanding Italian football, he can work on the defensive phase, he is studying the language.

“He must have a little more consistency, but he has already scored seven goals, plus six assists, what more can you say.”

The agent then confirmed the interest of some teams ahead of the summer transfer window.

“For the moment there have only been inquiries. We intend to keep him quiet, then we’ll see what happens. We’re in no hurry, as is the player.

“Then if the call comes, we will evaluate it with the club. I know there is interest, nothing written, except for a few calls to get information.”

The 24-year-old Lauriente, who is contracted to Sassuolo until June 2027, has directly contributed to 13 goals in his first 19 Serie A appearances for the club.

The French winger only scored two goals in the first half of the season for the Neroverdi but has finally found his footing in 2023, playing a key role in the team’s climb up the Serie A table.
