LaLiga chief Javier Tebas has again lashed out publicly at Juventus amid the investigation into financial irregularities, but Lega Serie A President Lorenzo Casini is getting tired of the criticism.

Tebas is relishing the outbreak of the scandal around Juve’s finances, which are now under investigation by the FIGC, UEFA and the public prosecutor in Turin.

This is largely due to the bitter rivalry between Tebas and Juventus President Andrea Agnelli, who remains the figurehead of the European Super League movement along with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“It is up to the tribunal in Italy to find who is guilty, but trying to win competitions has led to a situation where Juventus try to falsify their accounts to their own shareholders,” said Tebas at the presentation of a KPMG report.

“So Agnelli is the person you want to be the leader of the Super League? If he was able to present false balance sheets or try to con people with capital gains, this is meant to be his idea of economic sustainability?

“When they accuse UEFA of being corrupt, who is the corrupt one here? Maybe it’s much closer to their door, or hidden behind the A22 (company that now runs the Super League project, ndr).

“I don’t know if he is the right man to lead a project of this type. They talk about corruption at UEFA, I don’t think he has the authority or position to do that.”

Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona are the only clubs still committed to the European Super League, which would see them abandon UEFA and set up their own tournament to keep far more of the revenue.

Lega Serie A President Casini also spoke to reporters today and had already denounced Tebas this week.

“As I said before, I don’t see this as an understandable position. There is an investigation on-going, so it is not right to comment on those prematurely.”

FIGC President Gabriele Gravina had also hit back at LaLiga chief Tebas, pointing out that Barcelona’s financial situation was not exactly crystal clear either after confirming debts of €1 billion.
