Napoli talent Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is again training separately from the rest of the squad due to a back problem, but is expected to feature in the final Serie A game of 2022 against Udinese.

The 21-year-old Georgia international has been a sensation so far in his debut Italian season, contributing eight goals and 10 assists in 17 games between Serie A and the Champions League.

He was forced to miss the matches against Atalanta and Empoli due to a back injury, so has not featured since Trent Alexander-Arnold barged him into the advertising boards during the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool.

According to the Corriere dello Sport and Gazzetta dello Sport, Kvaratskhelia was again training separately from the rest of the squad, but he does hope to make his comeback for Saturday’s encounter with Udinese, as the pain is gradually calming down.

He was able to step up the intensity of his gym work today.

That is the final Serie A fixture of 2022, before going into the break for the World Cup in Qatar.

A decision on Kvaratskhelia’s fitness will be made on Friday, but Napoli have no shortage of options in attack, including Matteo Politano, Hirving Lozano, Eljif Elmas and Giacomo Raspadori.
