World Cup winner Cristian Zaccardo believes Napoli signing Kvicha Kvaratskhelia could become the ‘new Rafael Leao’ in Serie A.

The 21-year-old Georgia international has already impressed playing in the Nations League with goals and assists this month.

He secured a €10m transfer to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona from Dinamo Batumi, after leaving Rubin Kazan in Russia.

“I saw him play in 2020 and he made an immediate impression, so I’ve been following him ever since,” Zaccardo told TMW.

“I hope he can become one of the best players in his role. He’s got confidence and a good head on his shoulders. With that change of pace, sprint and dribbling skills, there are few like him in Italy, except perhaps Leao at Milan.

“He can be really decisive for Napoli.”

Kvaratskhelia scored eight goals in 17 senior caps for Georgia, along with five assists.
